NEEDED : RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN
LOCATION : 330 Federal Way, Pine Knot, KY 42635
SCHEDULE / HOURS : 32 hours per week, 4 days per week, 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 00 PM
QUALIFICATIONS :
- U.S. Citizen
- Shall be fully licensed to perform radiological procedures by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
- Licensed by the state of Kentucky or Tennessee
- Must have three or more years of experience.
- Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Red Cross of American Heart Association.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and law enforcement agency background check.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Radiology Technician shall be capable of performing any and all radiology procedures needed without any technical support.Perform routine radiologic procedures ordered by the medical staffTransmit, retrieve X-ray images and reports electronically, and scan reports into inmates’ Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).Receive training to retrieve radiographic consults from BEMR and schedule them to perform all radiographic procedures.Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs.Print and maintain for records.Possess knowledge of basic emergency situations that may occur during special radiographic procedures.Schedule exams and maintain records.Possess knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging.Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary to obtain a proper quality diagnostic exam.Receive patients and explain procedures to alleviate undue anxiety.Independently perform all radiographic procedures, i.e., chest, bone, skull, spine, and portable x-rays, etc.Notify Radiologist, referring Physician, or Advanced Practice Provider of any preliminary abnormalities seen while patient is undergoing an exam, so that additional views, or exams can be ordered if needed.Coordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care.Work with Clinical Director to ensure monitoring and evaluation activities are completed.Act as liaison between radiologist and medical staff.Receive training and orientation and comply with correctional techniques as they pertain to medical services.Develop a working knowledge of the local medical protocols.At all times wear outer protective clothing and obey Universal Precautions as set forth by Center for Disease Control.Function in other duties commensurate of a Radiology Technician.Computerization and printing of daily logComputerization and printing of exam requisitionsPrinting of all folders and exam labelsCompleting all x-ray studies ordered by the medical staffPreparing x-rays for shipment to the radiologist for interpretationTransport of x-rays to radiologist for interpretationTransport all x-rays from radiologist after interpretationAssisting the staff with maintenance of equipment and supplies, and notifying staff whensupplies are neededConducting quality assurance tests and daily maintenance on x-ray equipment as neededAssisting with FDA inspections and preparation for TJC and program review as neededAssuring that all x-ray requests are completed properlyComputerization of patient logs and repeat analysisMaintain patient privacy and confidentiality.BENEFITS : Competitive Hourly Pay Rate, Accrued Vacation, Accrued Sick Leave, 10 Paid Federal Holidays, and Health Benefits Contribution.
