The Electrical Engineer I supports the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge environmental and AI-powered systems for both military and commercial use. This entry-level role focuses on assisting with the development of electronics for embedded systems and instrumentation, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and gaining hands-on experience in ruggedized, miniaturized hardware systems. The position provides exposure to advanced technologies and real-world deployments in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Job Duties :
- Design & Development Support : Assist in the design, prototyping, and testing of electrical components and circuit boards for environmental and embedded AI systems. Support integration of sensors, processors, and AI modules within compact, rugged platforms.
- Collaboration & Teamwork Collaborate with engineers across electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines to meet design requirements and project timelines. Participate in team design reviews and cross-functional discussions to support development goals.
- Testing & Troubleshooting : Help build and troubleshoot test setups; assist in validation and debugging of hardware systems. Contribute to root cause analysis for fielded systems and assist in resolving basic hardware issues.
- Documentation & Process : Document schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical notes to support product development and sustainment. Ensure version control and clear recordkeeping of design files and test results.
- Field & Deployment Support : Support field testing, internal evaluations, and customer demos as needed. Participate in integration efforts for real-time mission applications and deployments.
- Continuous Learning : Stay engaged with emerging technologies related to electronics, embedded systems, and AI applications. Seek mentorship and actively develop technical skillsets through project-based learning.
Requirements :
A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.Familiarity with circuit design, microcontrollers, or embedded system fundamentals.Experience using tools such as Altium, KiCAD, LTspice, or similar is a plus.Basic understanding of testing tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers).Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and collaborate in a team environment.Ability to support hands-on prototyping and test activities in lab or field settings.U.S. Person status (citizen or permanent resident).Preferred Qualifications :
Background in automotive, EV, AV, aerospace, or space industries.Familiarity with guidance and navigation technologies, inertial and magnetic sensors.Experience with optics and multispectral digital imaging systems.MIL-STD or DO-160 EMC design and test experience.Expertise in electronics design and testing for harsh environments.Knowledge of programmable logic design.Skills in signal integrity and power integrity design.Experience transitioning products into full production and shipping at scale.Low-level firmware expertise, particularly for bring-up and testing.Understanding of ITAR and export compliance.Possession of a DoD security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.A hybrid work schedule may be considered for California residents located near the Los Angeles area.Benefits Overview
