A company is looking for a Fuel Handling Mechanical Design Engineer for a long-term remote contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design of nuclear fuel handling equipment and components from initial requirements to final design completion

Provide engineering support for fuel handling systems and ensure compliance with design codes and regulatory standards

Generate and maintain design documentation, including technical reports and specifications, while coordinating with various engineering disciplines

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution

5-15 years of direct experience in mechanical systems design, especially in nuclear fuel handling environments

Proficiency in ASME BPVC, Section III, Division 1 and / or Section VIII, and remote tooling design

Proven ability to coordinate and lead design efforts with minimal direction

Familiarity with quality standards applicable to design activities, such as ASME NQA-1
