Senior Manager Of Technical Delivery
The Senior Manager of Technical Delivery will lead the Technical Delivery stream as they manage critical Technology initiatives that will drive efficiencies across the BetMGM business landscape to support business objectives. This role will also take ownership of BetMGM's Technology Infrastructure program and will work with partners, technical teams, and vendors to manage hardware refreshes, data center migrations, and disaster recovery plans. The Senior Manager of Technical Delivery will be a catalyst for change in ways of working by promoting collaboration, documentation, and communication throughout the Technology project lifecycle. This role will be responsible for enforcing standardized project management methodology and documentation procedures using tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Workfront, Confluence, etc. to increase visibility into Technology initiatives and foster stakeholder engagement.
The Senior Manager of Technical Delivery will work with the Director of Technology Strategy and Transformation to create a Technology Infrastructure roadmap and to establish KPIs to measure the success of Technology program initiatives. This role will also be responsible for collating the Technical Delivery teams' updates and presenting key project highlights to the Technology department, Technology SLT, and BetMGM Executive team via regular updates in addition to leveraging real-time dashboards and metrics.
Responsibilities include :
- Promote a standardized project management methodology to ensure the successful delivery of Technology initiatives abiding to time, budget, and scope requirements
- Create and upkeep scope specifications and project / program plans, program level tracking / reporting, and communication plans
- Estimate time and resource requirements and monitor milestone completion through the entirety of the project lifecycle
- Prioritize Technology Infrastructure projects based on business need and project resource capacity
- Develop and maintain relationships with key infrastructure stakeholders both internally and within partnered organizations in teams such as Technology, Technical Governance, Procurement, Finance, Compliance, etc.
- Align with Technology stakeholders on infrastructure approaches and challenge, when appropriate, to ensure solutions are aligned with BetMGM business needs, are cost-effective, and are designed optimally
- Create and review work products across the Technology Infrastructure program to ensure all project risks (technical, operational, and financial) are raised and escalated and an accurate project status is communicated and represented in project documentation
- Serve as the first point of escalation for project roadblocks and / or risks
- Manage the Infrastructure program budget by reporting on project costs and raising unforeseen costs to management for review
- Identify and implement Infrastructure operational enhancements such as updated templates, automation, process documents, etc.
- Provide leadership to the IT Delivery team by prioritizing and assigning IT projects, and providing support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle
- Align with the Director of Technical Strategy and Transformation to understand the strategic needs of the business and incorporate them into a Technology Infrastructure roadmap
- Provide direct line management to IT Delivery Managers and Program Managers by setting performance objectives and providing guidance and coaching to ensure set objectives are met
- Serve as the acting department lead when the Director of Technology Strategy and Transformation is unavailable by attending meetings, providing updates to senior leadership, and managing team members, when needed
- Onboard new hires by educating them on the BetMGM products, internal processes, and roles and responsibilities related to their position
- Leverage data to create KPIs and dashboards to increase business visibility into overall Technology department performance and IT project performances
Qualifications include :
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science is highly preferredPMP certification highly desired7+ years of project / program management roles within an IT organization3+ years of experience managing day to day operations in an infrastructure roleExperience working with stakeholders to develop and implement infrastructure solutionsExcellent analytical and strategic thinking skillsExperience managing large scale global cross-functional technology infrastructure projects by creating supporting project / program plans and program level tracking / reportingExperience managing a disaster recovery, data center decommissioning, or data center buildout project is highly preferredAbility to successfully work across cultures and locations, driving team cohesion and effectivenessAbility to work autonomously, escalating when required to remove roadblocks or hurdlesAbility to inspire via superior communication (both written and verbal) & strong interpersonal skills are requiredExperience communicating and interacting with executive teams is preferredDemonstrated ability to successfully partner with a wide range of stakeholder including vendors, regulators, partners, and third partiesExperience using tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Adobe Workfront, etc. to optimize team efficiencyOrganized, adaptable, and able to tackle the challenges of working on multiple Infrastructure Technology initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentAbility to come into the office and / or travel to other locations for key meetings and workshops with stakeholdersValues attention to detail and understands the importance of precision in quality of workExpertise and demonstrated success in resource optimization and reportingProven leadership experience, especially in building, leading, and motivating teams in a fast-paced environmentExperience in a gaming, hospitality, retail, or similar industry preferredThe annual salary range for this position is $136K to $182K. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography / market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan.
