- Functions under the direction of the Site Manager.\n
- Responsible for performing a wide variety of clinical procedures\n
- requiring independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative in the utilization of the equipment for the diagnosis and / or treatment of diseases.\n
- The registered nurse is responsible for implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience.\n
- The nurse is responsible for providing patient care with an understanding and awareness of age specific needs.\n
- Addresses the biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and patient / family education needs in providing care to the patient and family.\n

- Completion of V-ARU competencies\n
- Provide pre and post procedure care of patients for invasive, interventional and surgical procedures\n
- Able to use critical thinking skills\n
- Able to deliver patient care in complex, multiple problem patient care situations\n
- Prepares and may administer contrast.\n
- Understands preparation / administration of doses according to patients weight and physician order\n
- Administers conscious sedation per system policy and procedure\n
- Preps the patient for procedure\n
- Demonstrates and understands steriile technique\n
- Demonstrate IV administration competence and maintenance\n
- Prepares trays and catheters for procedure\n\nJob Responsibilities\n
- Must be flexible with hours to meet department needs\n
- Able to work scheduled and On-Call hours if necessary\n
- Knows existing lines of communication and authority, handles communications properly and is dependable, cooperative and emotionally stable.\n
- Introduces self to patient and / or guardian upon entering room utilizing proper scripting\n
- Transports patients as needed\n
- Provides privacy and comfort for patient / customers\n
- Assists with maintenance of departmental records, Joint Commission standards, State and Federal Regulations and Performance Improvement\n
- Completes necessary paperwork\n
- Answers department phone using proper scripting\n
- Completes chart reviews as needed\n
- Performs QA / QC functions as needed\n
- Assists in other Medical Imaging areas and as needed in other departments in the system, system wide\n
- Maintain current successful completion of BLS and ACLS\n
- Understands Scope of Service for Vascular Institute, VARU and Medical Imaging\n
- Assist in inservice / training for other Medical Imaging staff as appropriate\n
- Reviews case with the appropriate physician(s) as needed.\n
- Recognizes that total patient care starts when the patient arrives at our facility and ends when the physician / patient have the imaging results.\n
- Meets Service Recovery and Customer Service Guidelines as needed.\n
- Reviews the case with appropriate physician(s) as needed\n
- Coordinates daily schedule of patients\n
- Maintains checking the crash cart in assigned Medical Imaging areas.\n\nQuality and Patient Safety\n
- Verifies patient ID using 2 patient identifiers, ie. Armband, DOB, verbal identification\n
- Verifies front of patient chart for same / similar name sticker\n
- Verifies Written Order, seeks clarification is unclear\n
- Understands and complies with verbal order RBAC and performs necessary follow-up with written order\n
- Uses and understands preprocedural verification / time out form when appropriate\n
- Understands and complies with site / side marking when indicated\n\nPatient Education\n
- Responsible for patient, family / support system education\n
- Provide post procedural home care instructions as needed.\n
- Performs other duties as assigned\n

- Accredited Program Nursing or Bachelors Nursing-Preferred\n\nRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) : \n\nAll certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.\n
- RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact\n
- BLS - Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor\n
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor\n\nRequired Minimum Experience : \n
- ICU / CCU / ER Required\n
- Interventional Radiology experience required\n
- Cardiac Cath lab experience preferred\n\nRequired Minimum Skills : \n
