Responsibilities Work in a hospital-based Med / Surg Telemetry unit at a Level I Trauma, teaching, and acute care facility Patient ratios are typically 1 : 5, with possible 1 : 6, as the hospital operates over capacity Float as needed to PCU, other Med / Surg / Tele departments, lower acuity settings, and the ED, within nursing scope Both day and night 12-hour shifts available; weekend coverage required for at least 2 weekends per 4 week schedule Assignments offered for 36 or 48 hours per week Utilizes Cerner EMR system IV starts and telemetry skills required First-time travelers are welcome to apply RTO (time off) requests over 10 days require approval; time off during the first and last seven days of contract not permitted Scrub color is black, not provided by facility Comprehensive orientation provided with required modules during initial training and annually Facility operates as a certified comprehensive stroke center and Level I trauma hospital Holiday bundles may be requested with a preference for a maximum of one per contract No prior permanent employees within the last 12 months eligible for immediate return as travelers Free parking is available Requirements Active NM or compact RN license (pending license accepted at the time of consideration) Minimum one year of recent Med / Surg Telemetry nursing experience required Certifications required : ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS Experience in starting IVs and monitoring telemetry No RQI certifications accepted COVID vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions accepted with provider-signed documentation Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility Valid non-local driver’s license or a documented transportation plan is required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627045.
