Overview
The Vermont Department of Health is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced nurse to lead a dedicated and caring team towards improving population level health. This is achieved through the delivery of essential public health services and programs such as chronic disease prevention, immunizations, WIC, maternal and child health, healthy homes, infectious disease, substance abuse prevention, school health, and emergency preparedness. AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS : Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. Environmental Factors
Duties may be performed in a variety of settings including but not limited to clinics locations and office. Incumbents may be exposed to infectious diseases and bloodborne pathogens. Essential skills include the personal ability to endure stress, act judiciously in personally acting upon or directing others in emergency situations, demonstrate knowledge of and ability to apply techniques for varying behaviors, including, but not limited to physical and verbal aggression. Exposure to personal injury or danger may occur based on the patient population and the specialty setting. Ability to meet minimum physical abilities as defined by the setting including, but not limited to extensive periods of standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motion, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling and lifting. Duties may include travel and use of personal vehicle.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of, or eligibility for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license AND five (5) years or more of professional nursing experience in public health or community health nursing
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
NOTE : Must maintain Vermont licensure as a Registered Nurse OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license as a condition of employment.
