Senior or Principal Environmental Engineer / Environmental Scientist - Air Quality
INTERA Incorporated is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior or Principal Environmental Engineer or Environmental Scientist to support our thriving Air Quality Services business.
This is a key role for a motivated professional who is ready to shape business development efforts, lead technical work, and grow client relationships across the Rocky Mountain region.
In this seller-doer role, you will participate in the management and execution of job scopes related to air quality permitting and compliance and air dispersion modeling. We are primarily looking for candidates who can join us from our Westminster, Colorado office or remote candidates located in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada or Idaho particularly those with strong regional connections and the ability to help us grow our Mining sector presence in these areas.

Responsibilities
- Management of large, complex, and / or high-profile air quality projects for INTERA's clients
- Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities
- Development of the INTERA brand in the Rocky Mountain Region, particularly in the mining and critical minerals industries
- Serving as a Trusted Advisor who manages and develops key client relationships
- Using experience and advanced knowledge to analyze and interpret local, state, and federal environmental regulations
- Participation in various scientific and trade organization meetings and conventions as an ambassador of INTERA
- Serve as an expert witness in administrative or court hearings
- Review work product prepared by INTERA staff
- Perform other duties as necessary per the direction of management.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 12-20 years of experience in air quality permitting and compliance projectsBS in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering, Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, or a related fieldDemonstrable track record of successful business development outcomesStrong written and oral communications skillsDemonstrated capability of understanding, interpreting, and applying environmental regulations and technical proficiency in practical situationsAbility to mentor and train other members of INTERA's staffProficient in time managementAbility to externally manage client and regulator relationships and internally manage staff and projectsAbility to receive and give direction and constructive feedback in a positive mannerAbility to work in a collaborative environment in a professional mannerAbility to shepherd and cultivate client relationships through desirable outcomes on projects and actively assist with business developmentPreferred Qualifications
5-10 years of direct people management experience5-10 years of project scoping and proposal preparation experienceProject experience in air quality dispersion modeling using approved regulatory models (i.e., AERMOD, ISC-PRIME, etc.)Professional Engineer or EIT license with the goal of obtaining a PE licenseMaster's or PhD in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering, Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, or a related fieldExpected Salary Range : $100k - $200k (in Colorado, commensurate with experience)About INTERA & Our Benefits
