Pay Range : $22 - $25 / hour
OVERVIEW
Hunger Free Oklahoma is seeking a full-time Enrollment Specialist – Summer EBT to support the implementation of the Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (Summer EBT) program, a federal initiative designed to combat childhood hunger by providing essential nutrition assistance to eligible families during the summer months.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and skilled at balancing both clerical responsibilities and peer leadership. They will have strong communication skills, the ability to learn new systems quickly, and the confidence to provide guidance, training, and frontline support to the enrollment team. A commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality customer service is essential to ensuring positive outcomes for participants and smooth operations for the program.

Hunger Free Oklahoma is a statewide nonprofit established to leverage the power of collaboration to solve hunger in Oklahoma by improving systems, policies, and practices, facilitating public / private partnerships, and providing backbone support to existing organizations addressing hunger.
Hunger Free Oklahoma’s primary focus is to collaboratively work with community-based organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders who directly serve individuals. We provide support through technical assistance, convening, research, and policy guidance to nonprofit, government, and other stakeholders statewide.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
The Enrollment Specialist – Summer EBT will be supervised by a Summer EBT Program Manager. The role will evolve over time, but the core of your work will be :
- Benefit Management : With support from the Summer EBT Program Manager(s), effectively use benefit management software to review cases, resolve outstanding issues, and verify documentation to ensure timely benefit processing and positive benefit enrollment outcomes.
- Data Entry : Accurately enter enrollment information into CRM software, maintaining up-to-date records for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Customer Service : Provide prompt, professional, and high-quality customer service to Summer EBT participants.
- Mail Support : Support mail processing team by organizing mail as needed, entering return mail data, and pulling and labeling outgoing mail to ensure timely delivery of Summer EBT benefits.
Leadership & Support Responsibilities
Team Coordination & Task Distribution : Assign daily shift responsibilities to clerks to ensure efficient workflow. Distribute tasks provided by the supervisor to appropriate team members.Onboarding & Training : Assist in onboarding new clerks by training them on Summer EBT enrollment processes. Conduct two formal check-ins during their first week to ensure understanding and progress. Review audit results with new clerks and provide feedback.Frontline Support & Escalation : Serve as the first point of contact for team questions and issues. Escalate complex concerns to the supervisor as appropriate.WHO YOU ARE
To qualify for this job, you will have :
Have 8 or more years of relevant experience; OR 8 years in a combination of post-secondary education or training and relevant work experience.Intermediate computer skills with experience in Salesforce (or willingness to learn).Comfortable learning new systems and software quickly.Experience assigning tasks or leading peers in a team environment as well as training new team members and conducting performance check-ins.Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain processes clearly and provide guidance to peers.Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service and effectively address inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.Have strong problem-solving skills, particularly in resolving enrollment issues.Have previous enrollment, mailroom, or clerical experience handling large volumes of applications or documents (preferred).KEYS TO SUCCESS

This position is full-time and based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This position requires the ability to perform medium physical effort consisting of occasionally handling, lifting, or moving objects 20-30 pounds for handling resources and supplies, and to sit or stand to complete office-oriented work up to 8 hours a day.

Hunger Free Oklahoma offers the benefit of a hybrid work schedule, allowing up to 3 days a week for remote work for much of the year. However, due to the intensive nature of benefit administration, there will be designated weeks during the summer when full-time, in-office attendance is required. Participating in the hybrid schedule requires access to reliable internet and a dedicated workspace at home. Hunger Free Oklahoma provides the necessary equipment.
