TLP Residential Counselor -1st Shift (7 : 30am – 3 : 30pm)

The Mental Illness Recovery Center (MIRCI) is a Nonprofit that assists homeless individuals, adults, and youth with clinical needs and permanent housing. MIRCI is continuing to improve the opportunities for the homeless in the Midlands and surrounding areas and is seeking a TLP Residential Counselor.

FUNCTION :

The TLP Residential Counselor - 1st Shift will assist youth housed in MIRCI's transitional and permanent supportive housing programs in developing and / or refining skills to help make a successful transition to self-sufficient living. The TLP Residential Counselor - 1st Shift receives direct supervision from the TLP Coordinator. This position will work Monday-Friday, 7 : 30 am to 3 : 30 pm.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES NEEDED :

• Knowledge of providing supportive services and assistance to youth who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
• Knowledge of crisis interventions.
• Knowledge and ability to communicate effectively with clients and other staff members.
• Knowledge of basic health and welfare services provided by other public and private agencies.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective contact with individuals, families, and representatives of other professional disciplines.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to persons served.

Must have a valid SC driver's license and a good driving record.
