Aspiranet serves more than 35,000 California children, youth, and families, each year from forty-four community-based sites statewide. Aspiranet provides a spectrum of services in Northern California, Southern California, and in the Central California Valley, including foster and adoption services, behavioral and mental health services, residential care, educational services, community-based family services, and emergency shelter.

Behavioral Health Services describe a continuum of care for children and families, with Crisis Stabilization and Therapeutic Behavioral Services delivering intensive, short-term support in home, school, and community settings. Family and Community Services focus on early intervention, parenting and life skills, and prevention of child abuse and neglect. Foster Care and Adoption programs prioritize the needs of each child and aim to provide safe, stable, and nurturing environments. Intensive Home-Based Services and Residential Services offer high-impact supports to families and youth, including trauma-informed care and coordination with clinical and support staff. Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) programs assist former foster youth in transitioning to independence, including furnished housing and education and employment assistance.

The Opportunity
As a member of the senior leadership team, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for partnering closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership to provide strategic leadership and direct the operational goals and vision for the organization. The COO will provide operational oversight and lead effective implementation of operational best practices to drive continued success and support future growth. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, agency-wide analysis, risk management, business workflows, budgeting, contracts, leases, facilities, systems, technology and workforce planning aligned with strategic and business plans. The COO is comfortable with change management and executes on strategy and ensures the organization operates efficiently, while providing high quality services and ensuring the wellbeing of staff. This individual ensures that systems, processes and procedures are in place and maximized to continuously improve the services, efficiency and outcomes.

Candidate Profile

Key qualifications include : commitment to Aspiranet’s mission and values, program integration, systems thinking, team leadership, external partnerships, and practical management experience in a multi-site nonprofit setting.
Key qualifications also include a bachelor’s or master’s degree, five-plus years in nonprofit leadership, stakeholder collaboration, budgeting and financial oversight, change management, and strong communication skills. Specific state licensing and background requirements may apply per Community Care Licensing.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $225,000–$250,000. Final salary will reflect internal equity and the selected candidate’s experiences and qualifications. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision plans; life insurance; Employee Assistance Program; a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match; generous paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and 14 holidays (including a birthday holiday); and voluntary benefits such as disability insurance, telehealth, flexible spending accounts, and employee discounts.
