The Lead Building Engineer supports operation, inspection and maintenance processes to mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems. You will work as part of an engineering team of 3 at a Class A office multi-building site in West Des Moines, IA. This position requires the Operating Engineer to be on-site.

What You'll Do

  • Complete assigned tasks that include but are not limited to : painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting system bulbs / ballasts (as allowed by any licensing requirements), plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, locksmith work and general maintenance
  • Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete any tenant service requests
  • Perform assigned preventive maintenance and inspection tasks
  • Support on-call or emergency response situations (if applicable)
  • Troubleshoot all building systems, including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls
  • Comply with all safety procedures
  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
  • Other projects and tasks to be assigned

What You Bring To The Table

  • 3+ years of related work experience, especially in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry
  • Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable
  • Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
  • Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneeling, lift and / or drive
  • Strong customer service skills
