PAY RANGE DOQ : $17.20 - $27.52 / HR.

Position Summary :

Semi-skilled and manual work in maintaining landscaped grounds and upkeep of sports fields and courts. Work is reviewed through oral and written reports, discussion, and results obtained.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Performs routine grounds clearing and maintenance : cuts grass with power mowers, including push-type, zero-turn, or tractor mowers; uses string trimmer, edger, hedge trimmer, blower; cleans and maintains grounds maintenance equipment; cuts, hoes, and sprays weeds; plants and maintains flower beds; trims and prunes shrubbery and small trees; rakes leaves and other debris; edges curbs; lays sod or seed as required; loads trash and trimmings onto a trailer or truck; sweeps or blows sidewalks; cleans restrooms and floors; conducts litter removal and emptying trash cans; inspects and repairs irrigation systems; prepares areas for public use.
• Prepares ball fields for play by measuring for field layout, paint or chalk lining, working clay, and setting up needed equipment.
• Prepares tennis courts for play by dragging, blowing, clearing lines, and other procedures.
• Applies insecticides, herbicides, and fertilizers as required.
• Informs and assists public in the use of facilities.
• Make daily written and oral reports.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.
