We are seeking a skilled Advanced Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and optimize complex electrical systems. As an Advanced Electrical Engineer for the Progeny Systems Business Area, you’ll be a member of or lead a cross functional team dedicated to the development of military-grade electronics and underwater acoustic systems.

What You'll Do :
∙Analyze and design analog and digital electronic circuits including signal conditioning,
power, analog-to-digital conversion, transformers, inductors, amplifiers, and communication
∙Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware
∙Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems including test software applications
∙Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions
∙Design, analyze, and test underwater acoustic systems
∙Design and build prototype cable assemblies
∙Perform solder rework of prototype circuit card assemblies
∙Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to
explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer
∙Generate design and interface documentation
What We're Looking For :
∙Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or
Mathematics field
∙Requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3
years of job-related experience.
∙ Working knowledge of the engineering development life cycle, including concept,
requirements, design, implementation and test phases
∙Working knowledge of op-amps and transistors
∙Experience with analog and digital circuit design including signal integrity principles
∙Experience with transformers and inductors, and how to size them including key
parameters such as flux density magnetizing current, leakage inductance, transformer and
inductors losses and temperature rise.
∙Working knowledge of common communication interfaces such as Ethernet, RS-485,
USB, CAN bus, LVDS, and protocols such as TCP and UDP
∙Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including : creation of high-level functional and
architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic
entry (OrCAD Capture experience a plus), and working with the PCB layout team to
optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment, etc.
∙Familiarity with underwater acoustic principles
∙Strong documentation and communication skills
∙Experience with the following a plus : battery systems, electric motors, and MATLAB
programming
