The Role

The Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center has an immediate opening for a Sales Specialist. The Sales Specialist will oversee the facility's booking system and event calendar and process all related booking requirements including contracts and addendums. This position will work with the Sales Department, Director.

Hourly Rate : $30

Major Responsibilities :

  • Utilize Ungerboek to perform daily tasks and reports
  • Organizes and maintains file system and files correspondence and other records along with Directors and / or Managers.
  • Distributes Event Transmittals as necessary
  • Provides back-up phone coverage for the department
  • Respond to clients via email, phone call in a timely manner
  • Issue contracts, proposals, letters and other correspondences to clients
  • Process letters of agreement
  • Enters event information Ungerboek to event Transmittal
  • Participates in reception desk rotation coverage
  • Assists with the processing of facility / client rental applications
  • Processes filming contracts and back-up contract support for Event Services
  • Provides request for department supplies to Executive Assistant for approval and processing
  • Assists clients with questions pertaining to the Sales Department
  • Provides back-up phone coverage for the Sales Department
  • Works with CVB processing CBFS and rental reduction
  • Assist another department with calendar holds

Qualifications :

High School diploma or G.E.D. or Bachelor's degree

Minimum 2 years sales related experience and / or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to type at least 55 wpm and strong Excel experience

Ability to use all office equipment, computer, calculator, fax machines, copy machines

Ability to prioritize tasks and to handle multiple tasks at a time

Good communication, problem solving and organizational skills

Excellent customer service and public relations skills
