Job Summary : The Engineering Technician supports the Engineering Department in production tasks, testing, validation, and quality assurance. This role involves hands-on work with high-frequency (HF) modules, control systems, and electrical components, as well as interaction with customers and cross-functional teams.Key Responsibilities :
- Support engineering projects and production activities.
- Conduct component and product inspections and testing, including :
- HF Module Testing : Perform Hi-Pot, inductance, resistance testing, software programming, and validation.
- HF Module Burn-In : Set up power and load connections.
- Product Setup and Testing : Configure and test systems such as controls, TOBi, and Power Loggers.
- Evaluate new components and materials; perform failure analysis and testing.
- Assist with software and control system validation :
- Perform lab experiments and field testing.
- Conduct validation and issue resolution testing.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment per operational standards.
- Conduct charger and HF module testing as needed.
- Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
- Respond to technical support calls, providing troubleshooting assistance.
- Support customer installations and troubleshooting, including occasional travel.
- Execute quality assurance inspections and tests as directed by engineering.
- Operate and maintain analytical equipment, including calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Evaluate returned materials :
- Identify and document returned components.
- Inspect and test returned products.
- Perform root cause analysis.
Required Qualifications :
Strong understanding of analog and digital electronic circuits, with an emphasis on power electronics.Proficient in reading schematics, PCB layouts, datasheets, drawings, and specifications.Experience with lab equipment : soldering irons, oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, hand tools, etc.Proficient in AutoCAD, PADS Logic, PADS Layout, and LabVIEW.Comfortable working with low and medium voltages (120–600 VAC).OSHA Arc Flash and NFPA 70E training certification required.General Skills & Competencies :
Solid understanding of AC / DC electrical theory and safety practices.Strong math and analytical skills.Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access; CAD knowledge is a plus.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Customer-focused, team-oriented, and proactive.Clean driving record and willingness to travel overnight as needed.
