job_description.job_card.job_descriptionPerform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages and ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling. Complete specimen receiving and processing, load them onto instruments or perform the kit testing, and associated instrument maintenance (temperatures, monitoring reagents) and clerical duties (filing, mailing, faxing). Patient check-in and order entry of laboratory tests in the laboratory information system. Interact daily with pathologists, physicians, technologists, clinical staff, nursing unit personnel, and patients. High School Diploma or equivalent Required Completion of accredited Phlebotomy Training program and clinical rotation. 6 months of Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing Experience Required 1 year of experience in phlebotomy and processing Preferred Phlebotomist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent Preferred Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent Preferred
Work Schedule :
80% FTE, float position, day shift. 8 hour shifts Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with varying start times between 8 : 00AM and 9 : 00AM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. You will float to any UW Health clinics.
Pay :
- External hires may be eligible for up to a $2,000 sign on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE).
- Additional components of compensation may include float differential.
