Job Description
Turner & Townsend is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Consultant to join our data center team. This role is critical in supporting the financial and technical aspects of data center construction projects, ensuring cost control, accuracy, and alignment with project execution strategies throughout the lifecycle.
We are ideally looking for a local candidate, but will consider remote candidates with exceptional experience and qualifications. Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain detailed cost estimates and budgets aligned with project scope, schedule, and execution plans.
- Integrate cost data with project schedules and work breakdown structures to support earned value analysis and performance tracking.
- Monitor and report on project cost performance, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and procurement teams to ensure cost alignment with technical requirements.
- Support change management processes by evaluating cost impacts of scope changes and schedule adjustments.
- Prepare and present cost reports, forecasts, and trend analyses to project stakeholders.
- Engage and manage third-party quantity surveyors and validate construction cost estimates.
- Maintain historical cost data and benchmarking tools to support future project planning.
- Lead monthly cost reporting and analysis, including tracking of key performance indicators.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years experience in cost engineering, preferably within data center, mission critical or high-tech projects.Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field. Advanced degree preferred.Proficiency in cost engineering tools and software (e.g., Excel, cost databases, scheduling tools like Primavera P6).Strong understanding of construction processes, project controls, and cost management principles.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a client-facing role.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
