Job Description

The role of a Manufacturing Engineer is to apply engineering theories and principles to solve problems related to industrial layout and manufacturing production. This position involves creating engineering drawings and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Study time motion methods and speed involved in maintenance production and other operations to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas, and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets to verify adherence to quality assurance specifications.
  • Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.

Essential Skills

  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Team player and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, preferably Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of experience in process planning, project management, and technical skills such as 2D / 3D modeling.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Assembly experience strongly preferred; experience in fabrication or automated environments is acceptable.
  • Open to candidates with more experience, especially those seeking a slower-paced role.
  • Work Environment

    This role is based onsite with minimal travel required (less than 5%). Candidates must be willing to relocate at their own expense if necessary. The position is initially a 6-month role with the possibility of extension, but this is not guaranteed.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 / hr.
