Occupational Summary
Independence Women’s Clinic is seeking a compassionate and motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) to join our busy OB / GYN practice. The LPN / MA will provide nursing care under the supervision of our nurse practitioners, midwives, and physicians while ensuring quality, patient-centered care.
Education & Training
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.
- Valid Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program.
- Current and valid Missouri nursing license required.
Experience
Prior OB / GYN experience preferred (6–12 months) but not requiredWilling to train the right individual with strong clinical skills and motivation to learn.Responsibilities (including but not limited to) :
Obtain and record vital signs, patient complaints, and medical history.Prepare patients for exams, procedures, and treatments.Assist providers with exams and procedures.Triage and return patient phone calls with provider guidance.Set up and maintain sterile trays as needed.Maintain exam rooms and nursing stations; ensure cleanliness and supply readiness.Report test results to patients as directed by providers.Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment.Track and manage lab, Pap, and tissue reports.Coordinate patient scheduling and referrals for procedures not performed in-office.Notify patients of Pap smear results and ensure follow-up for abnormal results.Handle pharmacy calls and medication refill requests.Perform waived lab procedures (e.g., urine dip, pregnancy testing, injections).Communicate provider orders to hospitals as directed.Position Type & Schedule
Typical office hours :Monday–Thursday : 8 : 15 AM – 5 : 00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch).
Friday : 8 : 15 AM – 4 : 30 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch).Benefits
