Description

The Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies at Tufts University is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach an introductory course in Scenic Design in the spring semester 2026. The class meets Wednesdays 1 : 30-4 : 20pm at Tufts University Medford Campus, Aidekman Arts Center.

Scenic Design Course Description : Development of the skills of script analysis, rendering and model making, and process for the design of scenery. This course is cross-listed with Tufts Film & Media Studies Program. The scope and syllabus of this course is at the discretion of the applicant in consult with the Head of Design and Production.

Additional Duties : This position will also be a design mentor to a student designer working on a student group production, and also a student designer on a TDPS department production.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold an MFA in Theatre Design or have equivalent professional experience and have some teaching, and one-on-one mentoring, experience at the college level.
