Weigand Construction traces its roots back to 1906 when stonesman Henry Weigand began installing and repairing many of Fort Waynes brick sidewalks. Four generations later, Larry Weigand has led the company to annual revenues of more than $400 million and positioned it as one of the premier builders in the Midwest by expanding operations in Ohio and Michigan. With an average of 400 skilled workers, Weigand Construction (WCI) has completed projects from simple renovations to state-of-the-art, nationally recognized facilities and is regarded as a specialist in healthcare and wellness, education, industrial and commercial work.

Job Responsibilities

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance
  • Clean and organize the shop area, tools, and equipment.
  • Dispose of waste materials properly & maintain a clean work environment.

Assist Shop Members

  • Provide support to senior technicians on various projects.
  • Hold tools, parts, or materials for other technicians as needed.
  • Run errands within the shop to retrieve parts, materials, or documents.
  • Learn by observing experienced technicians and asking relevant questions.

    • Training & Development

  • Actively participate in on-the-job training.
  • Seek out opportunities to learn new skills and expand knowledge.
  • Be open to feedback & instruction from supervisors and senior technicians.

    • Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced technicians.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
  • Basic knowledge of tools and equipment commonly used in a construction environment is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is beneficial but not required.
