Overview

Senior Manufacturing Technician role at Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems. The position involves electro-mechanical assembly, disassembly and rework to support naval power systems.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and work from wiring / assembly drawings, operation sheets, specifications, sketches, and work instructions.
  • Build, repair, and modify electromechanical assemblies using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, crimpers, torque wrenches, fixtures, etc.).
  • Perform testing, rework, and troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical assemblies.
  • Operate machine shop equipment (lathes, mills, grinders, drill press, band saw, etc.).
  • Ensure product quality, compliance with safety / regulatory requirements, and meet production deadlines.
  • Monitor raw material levels and support efficient workflow across departments. Manage multiple tasks, adjust priorities as needed, and support organizational mission and values.
  • Flexible to work overtime and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Strong decision-making skills with good hand–eye coordination.
  • Experience in safe chemical handling; prepare / apply RTV, potting, paints, and cements.
  • Proficient with computer applications; MRP experience a plus.
  • Soldering, winding machine, brazing, and spot welding experience preferred.
  • Physical requirements : ability to lift up to 50 lbs., perform manufacturing tasks (walking, sitting, standing, kneeling).
  • High School Diploma and 5 years of applicable experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
