About The Position

Job Title : CVU RN - Stepdown

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

1 year of experience with cardiac and vascular patient population.

Ability to titrate drips including Amio, Nitro, Nicardipine, Epi, and Cardizem.

Description :

The position involves providing intermediate care to patients who are stable but require close monitoring.

The unit supports a variety of cardiac conditions including post-surgical patients.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1 : 4, and 1 : 3 for post-surgical patients within the first 24 hours.

There is a charge nurse present on each shift who may rarely take an assignment.

Patient care technicians are available with a ratio of 1 : 18.

Intensivists and hospitalists are available on-site 24 / 7.

Respiratory therapy is also available in-house 24 / 7.

Registered nurses are expected to read and interpret telemetry strips.

The facility utilizes a remote telemetry tech system for monitoring patients.

Weekend shifts are required every other week.

Registered nurses may float to same level and lower acuity units.

Scrub color is navy blue.

RTO requests must be submitted upfront and additional requests will not be approved.

The facility has a cancellation policy in place for shifts.

The charting system used is EPIC.

BSN is not required for this position.

This is an acute care setting.
