Position Description
We are seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach an asynchronous online course on the fundamental science of how the climate system works. The instructor will teach the observed and projected impacts of climate change through the examination of observational data and climate / Earth system model predictions and projections. The candidate should be comfortable teaching : physics and chemistry of the atmosphere , focused on the greenhouse effect the carbon cycle and its relation to the energy system ; and predictions and projections of climate change . Students will engage with the material through class discussions and a diverse set of assignments.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will exhibit a robust background in climate science physical / atmospheric / ocean systems modeling as well as experience with climate policy . A PhD degree in a relevant discipline is required, along with a commitment to inclusive education and student engagement.
