Essential Job Duties :

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at North Carolina State University (NC State) invites applications for a Lecturer position. Primary teaching responsibilities will be at the undergraduate level for the department’s sociology or criminology programs. Several hires may be selected from this posting. Most will be part time and in person teaching.

Other Responsibilities :

The Lecturer is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. Each Lecturer prepares his / her own syllabi for the class(es) he / she teaches.

The Lecturer is responsible for performing duties during the day, evening, or weekend as assigned. A Lecturer performs all other duties as directed by the Department Head.

Minimum Education and Experience :

Master’s degree in sociology or related field.

Other Required Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence
  • Strong commitment to excellence in teaching.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • PhD in sociology or related field.
  • Teaching experience at the university level.
  • Discipline in Sociology or criminology.
