Job Requisition : Anesthesiologists
Location : Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR)
Required Qualifications :
- Degree : Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
- Education : Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada. Foreign medical school graduates must provide evidence of education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited U.S. schools.
- Board Certification : Board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists (ABA).
- Internship / Residency : Successful completion of an internship and residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association.
- Licensure / Registration : Currently licensed in the State of Texas and able to obtain clinical privileges to practice medicine with the applicable MTF Credentials Committee.
- Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Registration : Active DEA registration required.
- Legal Authorization to Work in the United States : Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. as defined by the Department of Homeland Security.
- Clinical Competency : Demonstrated clinical competency within the past two years in the required clinical discipline.
Experience :
Minimum of five (5) years of experience within the last 10 years working as an Anesthesiologist.Experience managing a full range of anesthesia, including cardiac, thoracic, vascular, burn, neuro, and pain management.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing cardiac, pediatric, critical care, and trauma patients (Level I).Minimum of four (4) years with direct involvement in anesthesia residency education, including experience as a resident mentor, core faculty member, or assistant / anesthesia program director.Job Responsibilities :
Perform clinical duties equivalent to those required of any Military or Government Civil Service physician of similar experience within the same unit.Meet or exceed reasonable standards of professional practice as determined by the governing authority.Perform within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the MTF.Maintain productivity comparable to other providers with the same scope of practice.Workload scheduled by the treatment facility, including scheduled and unscheduled care requirements.Obtain approval for any cancellation of patient schedules from the associated Department Chief.Provide a full range of anesthesia services, including cardiac, thoracic, vascular, burn, neuro, and pain management.Perform on-call duties as scheduled by the Department, averaging 2-4 times per month.Work an average of 1-2 weekends per month and maintain a minimum of five (5) shifts per month to maintain system access.Respond to in-person call-backs during designated hours if needed.Hours of Performance :
