General Contractor Estimator - Commercial Construction

Do you want to "bid" on a good career opportunity with a new and growing company? Negotiated bid focused commercial construction GC expanding their operations in Memphis! Our year old GC client is seeking a Preconstruction Estimator with at least 3 years of commercial construction (conceptual to CD / DD) & negotiated estimating experience (with a commercial General Contractor). The Preconstruction Estimator will work primarily on negotiated & hard-bid commercial projects within their core markets : commercial, light-industrial, manufacturing and corporate office.

Qualifications

We are looking to have discussions with Estimators that are looking for something flexible, challenging & exciting, yet detail-oriented and allows you to be a team player with the ability to lead and coach but also juggle multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will possess

• Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills.
• Local base of relationships for subcontractors, architects, suppliers and vendors.
• Creative and innovative approaches and solutions on a project-by-project basis.
• Proven ability for participation in team environment, with both external and internal groups.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software (Timberline or similar), take-off software (On-Screen Takeoff or similar).
• 3+ years of experience as a commercial construction estimator preferably within our core markets (referenced above).
• Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
