Field Service Engineer – PVD Systems (Inline & Cluster Tools)
Location : Bay Area, California (preferred)
Reports To : Service Manager
Travel : 50–75%, as required
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Field Service Engineer to support our physical vapor deposition (PVD) systems, including inline and cluster tool platforms. The ideal candidate will be based in the Bay Area and will play a key role in installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading advanced thin film equipment at customer sites within the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site service, diagnostics, and repair of inline and cluster PVD systems
- Support system installations, upgrades, and routine maintenance
- Train end-users on system operation and basic troubleshooting
- Communicate effectively with customers, internal engineering, and support teams
- Document service work and maintain accurate service records
- Travel as needed to customer sites (typically 50–75%)
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience servicing PVD systems or other vacuum-based semiconductor / equipment toolsStrong knowledge of vacuum, electrical, and mechanical systemsExperience with inline or cluster tool configurations preferredComfortable with hands-on, field-based troubleshooting and repairsStrong communication and customer-facing skillsBased in the Bay Area or willing to relocateU.S. work authorization requiredPreferred Background
