The Retreat at Arlington Heights Animal Hospital is looking for a friendly and experienced Professional Groomer to join our team! You will spend your days in our vibrant boarding, grooming, and dog daycare facility, where every day is full of wagging tails, playful pups, and happy clients.
This position can be either Full-Time or Part-Time . The schedule is Monday - Friday, starting at 8 : 00am and ending once all grooming appointments are completed. You’ll also be scheduled for rotating Saturdays.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have prior grooming experience with a variety of dog breeds and sizes.
You are responsible for all grooming services, including :
- Bathing, drying, grooming / hair cutting as requested by client, styling, brush out, flea treatments, clipping / filing nails, gland expression, de-matting, ear hair removal, brushing teeth, and cleaning up
- Keeping your area clean throughout the day and at the end of the shift
- Engaging with customers to ensure their requests are understood
- Evaluating the condition of the pet and addressing any styling / grooming concerns
- Must have prior knowledge and comfort with working with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Must have prior knowledge of breed grooming standards
- Certificate in grooming is a plus
