We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Brake Press Set Up Specialist- Lead to join our metal fabrication team. This role is responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to bend, form, and shape metal components according to precise specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fabrication processes, blueprint reading, and machine setup.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Set up and operate brake press machines (manual and CNC) to fabricate metal parts.
  • Interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine specifications.
  • Select appropriate tooling and dies for each job and ensure proper alignment and calibration.
  • Perform first-article inspections and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality.
  • Monitor machine operations and make real-time corrections to maintain tolerances.
  • Maintain accurate production records and complete job documentation.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating and setting up brake press machines in a fabrication environment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and protractors.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and practices in a manufacturing setting.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with CNC brake press programming (e.g., Amada, Cincinnati, etc).
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure.
  • Forklift certification.
