Surgery - Oncology Physician Assistant

Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group is seeking a Certified Physician Assistant or surgically experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for the Gastrointestinal Surgical Oncology department. Sarasota is located approximately 60 minutes south of Tampa. The area is known for the arts, great restaurants, world-class beaches, excellent schools, and a wide variety of activities for all ages.

First Physicians Group is Florida s Gulf Coast leader in primary and specialty care with an impressive 31-year history in the community. The group consists of 650+ Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in 49 different specialties and 70 practice locations.

Responsibilities Include :

• Working with the GI Oncology team, which includes two surgeons and three Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) providing four 10-hour shifts a week at one hospital.
• First and second assisting in the operating room.
• Rounding on inpatients, seeing consults and coordinating care of patients in the outpatient clinic.
• Weekday / weekend call will be shared equally with other providers (1 : 4).
