Business Unit Manager
The Business Unit Manager is responsible for directing contracted site operations, managing facilities associates, implementing safety programs, tracking financial performance, and ensuring excellent customer service. The Business Services Manager adheres to the client contract, acting as the key stakeholder of Eurest Services operations at the site level. The Business Unit Manager is expected to liaise with their client, leading all contracted site-level initiatives. The contracted scope of services for this role may include : Janitorial, Mail, Shipping and Receiving, Reprographics, General Maintenance, Meeting Services, Concierge Services, Laboratory Services, as well as vendor management for Security, Landscaping, Waste, Pest Control, etc. This position reports to the Resident Regional Manager or Regional Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Achieve Budget / Financial Responsibilities
Responsible for attainment of financial goals for the account.
Reviews and analyzes financial statements, weekly operating reports and other financial results; responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of this data.
Monitors and audits the accounting and control process within the account.
Evaluate and justify supplies, equipment and purchases.
Customer Relations
Maintains and supports client satisfaction at a level that ensures account retention, ensuring employee demonstrate same satisfaction.
Promotes client awareness of program initiatives.
Monitors and confirms compliance with the provisions of client contracts.
Assists in customizing programs to meet unique client needs as required.
Owns development and / or monitoring a unit business plan and reporting to clients as needed.
Operation Excellence
Reinforces a culture of safety, ensuring all associates are performing services in a safe manner.
Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise functions and activities of all contracted services.
Demonstrates and promotes corporate culture, values and management philosophy.
Displays good communication and listening skills with clients, customers and employees.
Establishes and annually reviews standards and work procedures for associates in accordance with policies and practices of the unit.
Conducts regular internal team meetings and communicates with clients to coordinate services for facility and customer activities.
Maintains an awareness of the competition and market conditions internal and external to the account.
People Management
Drives productivity and staffing that is appropriate to the account.
Participates in the Human Resource responsibilities to support corporate handbooks and policies.
Owns hiring duties for supervisory and hourly personnel.
Drives the implementation of effective employee relation and employee recognition programs.
Encourages employee creativity, innovation, and feedback.
Provides opportunities for advancement and other developmental experiences for successful associates and maintains a succession plan.
Coaches and counsels managers / associates providing continuous feedback on performance, professional development, and training to assist in their individual growth.
Administration
Oversee payroll, work schedules, hours, and tasks to ensure adequate services are rendered.
Takes necessary actions to ensure all corporate, client, and regulatory quality service standards are achieved.
Schedule major project work with clients assuring associates and supplies are available.
Coordinate all outside services (i.e. Landscaping, Snow Removal, Security, Pest Control, Waste).
