About The Position

Position Overview

Altru Health System is seeking a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist for a locum tenens assignment with expertise in intravitreal injections for retinal conditions , cataract surgery, and ocular trauma. This role is hospital-based and requires 24-hour call coverage on weekends while providing weekday clinic coverage with pager availability .

This assignment is ideal for an ophthalmologist who enjoys a variety of procedures , including injections for macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy , as well as surgical interventions.

Requirements :

Board-Certified Ophthalmologist – Required

Active ND License & DEA OR IMLC provider with LOQ in hand

Must be able to perform intravitreal injections and cataract surgery

Must provide 60 case logs from the past year

Comfortable with 24-hour call coverage

Compensation :

Clinic (M–F, 8 AM – 5 PM + pager) : ~$2850 / day

24-Hour Call : $2,054 / day (3 hours gratis)

Call Back Rate : $385 / hour outside regular coverage
