Experienced Seeker Radar Engineer - Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3)

Find your future with us.The Boeing Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) program area is working on several new development efforts for the Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) RF seeker and is looking for an experienced Seeker Radar Engineer to support these efforts! This position is located at the Boeing Jetplex facility in Huntsville, AL.Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) PAC-3 program is an air-defense, missile system designed to intercept tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and advanced aircraft where Boeing is the original engineering manufacturer of the seeker. Boeing's RADAR seekers provide target data to the PAC-3 missile which enables it to acquire, intercept and destroy threats using hit-to-kill technology. The PAC-3 Seeker team is a cross functional, highly skilled, motivated group embracing the beliefs that focused safety, execution, LEAN manufacturing and business practices will secure our future, all while driving our product to be the seeker of choice for the PAC-3 program and future generations of weapon systems. Position Responsibilities : Development of algorithms for radar signal processing techniques such as Kalman filtering, probabilistic and statistical modeling, and measurement processing from pulsed-Doppler waveformsDesign of algorithms that process signal returns into discriminated targets and track targets through mission timelineDefine system performance requirements and ensure interface definition supports various functional components of the seeker's and missile's architectureConduct analysis to optimize total system-of-systems performance and / or system architecture as applied to algorithmic functionality pertaining to the acquisition and tracking of targetsConduct analysis on seeker simulation data to identify areas of improvement and guide recommendations for system robustness in the presence of challenging operational environmentsReview and modify the application of general digital signal processing techniques to the processing of reradiated signal content to ensure accurate signal characteristic identificationSupport the tactical implementation of algorithm designs into Ada or C++ softwareThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active) Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) : Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) : 5 years of experience in Digital Signal Processing / Radar / Digital Communications algorithms and techniques (equalization, waveform processing, detection / acquisition / discrimination, channel estimation, filter design, resampling theory, etc.)Experience with MATLAB for data analysis, prototyping, and / or modeling and simulationExperience in digital signal processing theory, including the application of fundamental digital signal processing techniques.Knowledge of linear signal theory, Fourier transforms, and communication theoryRF, electrical transmission, signal processing and modeling in MATLABSystem test experience including test design, implementation, and execution for breadboard and brassboard hardwareExperience working in a fast-paced, independent research and development (IRAD) environmentFamiliarity with multiple programming languages and development environments (C++, Ada, Python, etc.) in an Agile environmentExperience in formal technical writing (i.e. Whitepapers, Tech-Notes, Technical Journals, and Research Reports)Experience in technology readiness level (TRL) maturation of novel technologies and conceptsRelocation : This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.Shift : This is a 1st shift position.Drug-Free Workplace : Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Total Rewards & Pay Transparency : At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
