The Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Analyst is responsible for conducting due diligence investigations on prospective and existing customers in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures. This role ensures compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations, mitigates financial crime risk, and supports the business in onboarding and maintaining customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities :
Conduct comprehensive due diligence and enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews on new and existing customers.
Gather, review, and analyze customer documentation and information for completeness and accuracy.
Identify potential risks and escalate issues as necessary to senior compliance staff.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices.
Draft and maintain clear, thorough, and well-documented reports of due diligence findings.
Liaise with internal departments (e.g., Compliance, Legal, Operations) to resolve discrepancies or obtain additional information.
Monitor and review customer transactions for suspicious activity, preparing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) when warranted.
Support regulatory audits and examinations as required.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to AML / KYC compliance.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in AML / KYC compliance, due diligence, or financial crime investigations (preferred).
Strong analytical, investigative, and research skills.
Familiarity with AML / KYC regulatory requirements (e.g., BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Professional certification (e.g., CAMS, CFE) is a plus.
Hourly Pay Rate : $30 - $55 per hour
