VP, Accounting, External Reporting & Compliance

We are seeking a strategic and inspirational VP, Accounting, External Reporting & Compliance to join our dynamic team.

The VP of Accounting, External Reporting, and Compliance plays a critical role in safeguarding Build-A-Bear's financial credibility by overseeing accurate financial reporting and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position has a significant strategic impact, driving informed decision-making and mitigating risks to support the company's long-term success .

Responsibilities :

• Lead and mentor a high-performing Finance team
• Inventory, lease, and entertainment compliance and reporting
• SEC documentation oversight (10-K / 10-Q, proxy statements, earnings and press releases, tables, disclosures, and tie-outs)
• Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements
• Oversee the implementation of new accounting standards
• Lead related system implementations and upgrade
• Lead global income statement and balance sheet review meetings
• Perform technical accounting research, develop and ensure compliance with accounting policies
• Evaluate contracts to assess and address accounting implications
• Support Controller on audits and SOX compliance
