Job Title : Licensed Practical Nurse (General)

Job Specialty : Staff Augmentation

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Mid-shift, 5x8, 2pm - 10pm, 40 hours per week

Guaranteed Hours : Experience :

License : Licensed Practical Nurse

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR

Must-Have : Availability to work any day of the week, including weekends. Schedule will vary.

Job Description :

• Administer nursing care within the scope of practice under the direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician, dentist, podiatrist, optometrist, or chiropractor.
• Perform tasks such as administering oxygen, applying sterile dressings, inserting catheters, reinserting gastrostomy tubes, and wound irrigation.
• Conduct dialysis treatments and operate hemodialysis equipment, monitoring patients throughout the procedure.
• Assist physicians with physical exams, treatments, and laboratory tests.
• Provide emergency assistance by administering first-aid, performing CPR, and restraining patients when necessary.
• Administer both controlled and non-controlled medications in various forms, providing medication instructions to patients.
• Maintain medication accountability records, prepare and count medication, and manage medication stock alongside medical equipment and supplies.
• Observe, document, and report patient conditions, including medication reactions, treatment responses, and behavior.
• Prepare and maintain related reports and records, including incident reports, patient records, and treatment plans.
• Offer general nursing, direct care, and programming assistance to patients, such as taking vital signs, assisting with personal grooming, administering topical solutions, repositioning patients, and escorting to recreational activities.
• Provide guidance and training to lower-level direct care staff in providing basic nursing care to patients.
• Participate in various meetings, including staff conferences, interdisciplinary team meetings, in-service training programs, and nursing meetings.
• Order medication and medical supplies, and maintain cleanliness in the nurses station and medication room / cart.
• Perform clerical tasks, such as answering phone calls and filing.
