Sterilization Techn Internship

Are you a Pre-Dental student at University of Oklahoma looking to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting? This internship offers the opportunity to learn essential sterilization techniques and contribute to patient safety in a real-world oral surgery environment. This is a part time position with flexible start dates in the spring with potential for increased hours in the summer.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Sterilization Technician Intern, you will assist in the processing and sterilization of dental instruments, gaining valuable experience in infection control and clinical operations. Responsibilities include :

• Collecting used instruments and equipment for decontamination
• Manually cleaning supplies to remove contaminants
• Operating and maintaining sterilization and decontamination equipment
• Preparing and packaging instruments for sterilization
• Inspecting instruments to ensure proper sanitation
• Organizing and delivering instruments for procedures
• Monitoring and documenting sterilization procedures and equipment maintenance
• Assisting with inventory and supply management
• Supporting the clinical team with additional tasks as needed
