Job Description & Requirements Specialty : ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline : RN Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel ICU Unit Overview Number of Beds : 4 Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : 1 : 2-3 depending on acuity Common Diagnoses / Patient Types : Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) Sepsis Respiratory failure Cardiac (rate and rhythm control) Medical detox Arterial lines, Central Venous Pressure (CVP) Drip Management : RNs are required to titrate drips Common titratable / set rate drips typical to an ICU setting Charge Nurse Coverage : No charge nurse on each shift Emergency Room oversees ICU operations Support Staff : No nurse aides or patient care techs on this unit Respiratory Therapy Equipment : Range from nasal cannula to ventilators RNs are expected to troubleshoot but not manage RT equipment Telemetry Monitoring : No monitor techs RNs are required to read and interpret their own strips Tele monitors brand not specified Scheduling & Shifts Shift Details : 12-hour shifts (7 : 00-7 : 00) Schedule created by director Weekend & Holiday Requirements : Staff will work based on unit needs Floating Requirements : May float to Med-Surg or ER (for 1 : 1 assignments) Orientation : 3 shifts of 12 hours each Scrub Color : Navy Additional Notes Attributes that contribute to success in this unit include : Coachability Motivation Ability to identify and address unsafe situations Strong teamwork 1096386810 About PRN Healthcare Our story starts with a 21-year-old CNA named Pete Hietpas.
