Electrical Project Engineer – Pulp & Paper Industry in Plymouth, North Carolina. RL Enterprise Recruiting & Staffing partners with a leading company in the pulp and paper industry to find an experienced Electrical Project Engineer for their facility in Plymouth, NC.

Position Overview
The Senior Project Engineer will play a key role in executing major capital and expense projects that support business growth and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Engineering Manager , this individual will ensure all project activities—from planning to construction—are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and government standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage electrical and multidisciplinary capital projects from concept through completion.
- Develop and implement detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure strict compliance with EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) policies and procedures across all project activities.
- Prepare and review PFDs P&IDs , design packages, and equipment specifications.
- Provide leadership and direction to internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure deliverables are met.
- Prepare cost estimates, perform cost-benefit analyses, and provide input into business case development.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, service providers, and third-party engineering firms.
- Oversee construction activities, ensuring proper installation, commissioning, and project closeout.
- Provide technical and analytical support to operations and maintenance teams.
- Maintain accurate reporting and communication with stakeholders, including executive management.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (required).5+ years of experience in an industrial or mill environment as an Electrical, Mechanical, or Project Engineer.Strong background in construction management and / or maintenance projects within process plant operations.Proficiency with AutoCAD, SAP, Microsoft Office , and scheduling software.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.Additional Information
Schedule : Full-time, typically 40–50 hours per week (some flexibility may be required).Travel : Occasional travel to vendor sites based on project needs.Work Environment : Industrial mill setting with a combination of office and field work.Why Join This Team?
