Description :

Provides professional nursing care based on current nursing knowledge.

Utilizes the nursing process through assessment of patient needs.

Develops a plan of care to meet the identified needs.

Implements nursing interventions and evaluates patient care outcomes.

Cares for patients from neonate to geriatric populations.

Subject to scheduled on-call assignments based on patient volumes.

Triages every patient entering the emergency care system.

Determines priorities of care based on physical and psycho-social needs.

Documents in-depth nursing history including chief complaint and health status.

Constantly updates the plan of care to meet patient and family needs.

Ensures availability and functionality of supplies and equipment for patient care.

Manages complications and emergencies per established policies and procedures.

Recognizes changes in patient health status and directs appropriate care.

Documents and acts on patient responses to interventions.

Implements health education for patients and their families.

Educates patients and families on treatment prior to initiation.

Documents discharge teaching information provided to patients and families.

Performs related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
