Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Responsibilities
- MSTS Maintenance and Reliability Engineering team is seeking a full-time Engineer II to implement the Predictive Maintenance program in the Mission Facilities by developing tasks and recommended frequencies. The engineer\'s work location will be Forward Area at the Nevada National Security Sites (NNSS), reporting to the Maintenance and Reliability Engineering Lead.
- Develop Predictive Maintenance (PdM) tasks and recommended frequencies for inspection. Ensure the proper application of engineering functions and principles of the Maintenance Program.
- Assist in the identification of specific predictive applications and verify the end product meets expectations and requirements.
- Support the research of other applications of predictive technologies.
- Ensure the correct preventive / predictive maintenance requirements are identified in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Develop and incorporate the Proactive / Predictive part of the Maintenance Program, which includes assistance to pre and post maintenance testing for history and trending prediction.
- Upgrade and maintain the Maintenance History and Trending Schedule.
- Provide technical assistance to the maintenance planners in developing work packages as required.
- Identify types and quantity of replacement parts required for spare parts inventory using maintenance history and predictive maintenance results.
- Review work order changes including PM deferrals and calculations for technical issues and code compliance.
- Provide alternative actions whenever a PM is failing or has failed.
- Train to become certified in analysis of vibration, infrared thermography, and motor circuits.
- Other tasks as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an engineering program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) required for Civil, Mechanical and Electrical engineering degrees; or calculus-based STEM bachelor's degree in engineering; or Professional Engineer license.Plus at least 2 years' relevant experience. Skill building experience must demonstrate either deeper technical specialization or additional cross-disciplinary knowledge. Graduate research experience may be recognized.Course work in electric power systems analysis, vibration theory and analysis, heat transfer, thermodynamics, or controls is a plus.Ability to interpret codes and standards within the discipline in which they were hired.Training or classes in NFPA 13, NFPA 20, NFPA 27, NFPA 72 is a plus.Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to write reports and technical publications and presentations.Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is desirable.Self-motivated with the ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision and know when to ask for help.Ability to handle pressure of deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks; strong time-management and organizational skills.Primary work location is the Nevada National Security Site, Forward Area 6 (65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, NV).Work schedule is 4 / 10s, Monday-Thursday (subject to change).Pre-placement physical examination, including a drug screen, is required. MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review, including checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment / education verifications. Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of illegal drugs will be conducted. Annual salary range for this position is : $81,307.20 - $121,971.20. Starting salary is determined based on market value, candidate education and experience, and internal equity.
