Description :

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Medical-Surgical / Telemetry unit.

The facility is a teaching hospital with a Level 1 Trauma designation.

The unit consists of 29 beds.

Patient demographics include general medicine patients with diagnoses such as diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory conditions, renal problems, and wounds.

Experience with common procedures such as chest tubes, tracheostomies, and lab draws is required.

Patient ratios are 1 RN to 5-6 patients and 1 CNA to 9-10 patients.

Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively are essential.

Candidates should be comfortable with moderate to high-stress levels and possess the ability to read telemetry strips.

Responsibilities include providing direct and indirect patient care and managing various infusions such as Amiodarone and PCA pumps.

Support staff includes CNAs, charge nurses, and phlebotomists.

There is a Rapid Response Team and respiratory therapy available 24 / 7.

Technology used includes an electronic medical record system and various medical equipment.

The schedule includes weekend rotations every other week.

Travelers will be expected to work 75% of holidays.
