Description
Responsible to the Director of Medical Staff Services. Provides general office expertise to and performs office tasks to meet the needs of Holy Cross Hospital and Physician's Surgical Outpatient Center as needed to supplement the Medical Staff Office personnel. Tasks include but are not limited to physician ED Call pay submissions, ED Call scheduling, tracking of all compliance elements for CMS, and Joint Commission accreditations involving medical staff which may include Expirables, vaccinations, OPPE, FPPE. To assist Credentialing Coordinators with obtaining required documents to meet regulatory standards for initial credentialing, recredentialing, and any other related task identified and coordinated with the Director of Medical Staff Services.
Primary Job Responsibilities and Duties
Timely, accurate and confidential processing of requests for payroll, compliance elements, appointment, reappointment, temporary privileges, locum tenens application processing, and any other task directly or indirectly related to onboarding a provider at the above-listed institutions. Close communication with the Director of Medical Staff Services, other Medical staff personnel, CPI and personnel at the institutions identified above to identify and consistently meet their credentialing needs. Assist in the integration of crossover providers at Institutions to assure aligned presentation of credentials data to the Governing Body to avoid multiple, and possibly contradictory, decisions on the same provider. Familiarity with the statutory requirements of Florida related to the licensing and credentialing of all types of providers. General office duties to include answering the telephone, following up on messages, scanning and updating MSOW, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Considerable knowledge of medical staff services concepts, principles, methods, procedures including requirements for medical staff appointment and reappointment. Must have a thorough understanding of Joint Commission Standards and Medical Staff Bylaws. Must be able to work independently and meet production requirements that serve the interests and needs of the above-listed institutions. High school graduate but some colleges preferred. With experience in healthcare or business field is preferred. Minimum experience requirement : Two years' experience in a business office preferably in a hospital or outpatient setting.
Must have computer skills commensurate with the position, to include but not limited to knowledge of how they work, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and other Office products typically found in a business environment. Must understand and support the relationship between the Medical Staff Office(s) and internal and external customers, including but not limited to the Holy Cross Medical Group, aligned payer credentialing associations, and other parties. Familiarity with the state regulatory standards for providers licensed in Florida or ability to become familiar with these requirements within a one year period.
