Associate Project Accountant
Addison Group is supporting a well-established and growing organization in their search for a detail-oriented Associate Project Accountant to join their finance team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining project financial accuracy and reporting throughout the full project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities :
- Review active and upcoming projects in the ERP to verify budget accuracy, revenue tracking, and proper coding
- Maintain ongoing visibility into project costs, billings, and overall financial performance
- Assist with generating and distributing customized project reports, such as cash flow summaries, profitability reviews, and budget variance analysis
- Track and manage billing cycles, ensuring client invoicing is timely and accurate
- Follow up on outstanding payments, supporting AR efforts and client account reconciliation
- Analyze cost trends and identify deviations from budgets, helping teams stay on track financially
- Partner with project managers to update budgets, provide cost insights, and support strategic decisions
- Help identify areas for cost efficiency or process improvement across assigned projects
- Ensure all activity aligns with internal accounting policies, controls, and applicable financial guidelines
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across finance, operations, and project management
- Clearly communicate financial status updates to internal stakeholders and leadership
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)Strong understanding of project accounting principles, with at least 13 years of relevant experienceProficiency in financial reporting and budgetingPrevious exposure to ERP or accounting systemsExcellent analytical and communication skillsCPA or CPA track preferred, but not requiredWhy Work with Addison Finance & Accounting?
