Warehouse Services Position

The purpose of this work unit is to support the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (CSDB) by providing warehouse services essential to the operation and management of the school's educational and support programs. This includes the acquisition, receipt, storage, and distribution of goods and materials in compliance with State of Colorado Procurement Rules, CSDB policies, and State of Colorado Fiscal Rules. The unit ensures that resources are efficiently and effectively managed to meet the needs of students and staff. The FTE for this position has been reduced from 1.0 to 0.50, resulting in a part-time schedule of 20 hours per week year-round. This change reflects an adjustment in operational needs and staffing resources within the work unit. This position is responsible for receiving shipments from vendors and freight carriers, inspecting deliveries for accuracy and damage, and fulfilling internal stockroom requests. It manages inventory levels within the warehouse, places supply orders for the warehouse and various departments, and ensures proper tagging and disposal of equipment in accordance with fixed asset inventory procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Experience Only : Three (3) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position OR Education and Experience : A combination of related education and / or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to three (3) years

Special Qualifications Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Possession of a current, valid State of Colorado Driver's License (Regular) preferred. Knowledge of and ability to assess and apply technology to perform the requirements of the position; ability to effectively utilize a variety of computer software applications, which may include but is not limited to e-mail, Internet, word processing, electronic calendar, spreadsheets, databases (e.g., CORE), and willingness to stay current and develop skills as needed with or without direct support from CSDB. Skilled in use of photocopier and other typical office equipment. Ability to respond effectively and positively to feedback; ability to participate effectively in a team setting and to work independently; strong interpersonal and communication skills; effective organizational skills; effective problem-solving skills. A courteous, professional and helpful attitude in the role of CSDB representative. This Materials Handler III position is non-exempt, and eligible to receive overtime and / or shift differential pay, with a condition of employment that overtime work must be appropriately authorized in advance and may be paid in compensatory time in lieu of cash payment. . Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) at the Survival Plus skill level, or applicant must be willing and able to attain proficiency at the level within a specified period of time, as demonstrated by an appropriate assessment tool and according to school policy / procedures.
