Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.
We are now hiring a Full Time Registered Nurse in Lubbock , TX . The Registered Nurse delivers care to individuals with disabilities in a community setting utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. This person will interact with individuals, significant others, and health team members while maintaining the standards of professional nursing.
- This is an On-call Position
- Offering an $8,000 sign on bonus payable at 6 months. Must be Full-time and working all scheduled hours, complete all required training by referred employee, must successfully pass the 6 month introductory / probationary period per the Executive Directors approval.
Responsibilities
Provide treatment and health care procedures ordered by a physician and required by the standards of professional practice or lawEnsure individuals attend medical appointments per their Individual Support Plan (ISP)Advise supervisor of all concerns and issues related to the provision of nursing servicesCreate and distribute medical / health reports detailing general health, health care goals, and physician recommendationsConduct programmatic trainings including medication administration and delegationDevelop and update Individual Support Plans (ISP) / Person Centered Plans (PCP) with an interdisciplinary team to include any concerns, observations, and behavioral developmentsTrain employees on the medical needs of assigned individualsMonitor health and medical conditions of individuals and refer for medical services as neededMonitor the use of medications through medication administration logsAdministers medication and management as neededProvides health teaching to the client and assists the client in learning appropriate self-care techniques and safety measuresConducts nursing assessment visit as neededReports all incidents per operation procedure and regulatory standardsFollows policies and procedures according to operational, state, and regulatory standardsCompletes supervisory visits based on compliance and regulations to include review of plan of care, caregiver competency assessment, and completion of required documentation. Complete daily, monthly, quarterly and annual nursing documents as requiredAttends and participates in staff meetings, in-services, and other meetings as requestedEnsures the ordering, reviewing, monitoring, discontinuation, and, if necessary, the disposal of medications as prescribed by the physicianTranscribes or ensures transcription of physician phone orders and other medically related reportsEnsures that appointments for health-related issues are scheduled, completed, and that appropriate responses to findings are implemented in a timely mannerProvides new employee training, annual re-certification training, and competency validation for health and safety-related topicsEmployee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigationMinimum Requirements
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in nursing fieldMinimum of one year of experience providing nursing services to individuals with disabilitiesValid R.N. licenseValid drivers license with a satisfactory driving recordUnderstanding and commitment to community-based support for persons with disabilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEmployment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testingWhy Community Options?
