SUMMARY :

  • This role is responsible for the development of Commercial Mechanical estimates through unitized pricing and contract cost estimating. You must be able to provide and coordinate full estimating take-offs and services on large complex projects. You will focus on pre-construction tasks, order equipment / materials, develop timelines and then oversee / manage the project. Ability to work both in a team and individual environment. Applicants must have experience with a general contractor estimating projects.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Evaluate bid specifications, drawings, and determine if the project is suitable for the company.
  • Perform quantity take-offs.
  • Prepare mechanical cost estimates on greenfield shell & TI projects, ranging from $10K to $3M.
  • Manage budgets throughout the design phase & project execution.
  • Develop and document logical assumptions during conceptual estimating activities and apply these to takeoff tasks.
  • Ensure the accuracy of cost estimates.
  • Communicate with GCs, subcontractors, architects, and engineers to clarify scope, materials, schedule, and document accordingly.
  • Review documents to develop and price value engineering opportunities.

    • REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE :

  • College degree and / or equivalent experience.
  • Formal training and / or relevant experience.
  • At least 5+ years of mechanical estimating experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to prepare conceptual budgets with minimal information.
  • Professional communication skills for project needs.
  • Analyze projects considering site logistics, general requirements, and conditions.
