Director of Accounting Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; MBA preferred .
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role .
  • Significant tax experience required (corporate, partnership, and multi-entity).
  • Industry experience in hospitality / food & beverage and real estate required.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP , internal controls, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Director of Accounting Preferred Background & Skills

  • Key technology expertise preferred : Restaurant365 (R365) and Yardi .
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives.

    • Director of Accounting Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, budgeting, and forecasting to align financial strategies with business goals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, producing financial statements and management reports.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to track the company’s performance through KPIs.
  • Direct all tax planning, compliance, and reporting, ensuring timely filings and optimized strategies.
  • Oversee cash flow and treasury operations, optimizing liquidity and resource use.
  • Mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals , fostering a high-performance culture.
